Incorporated in 1965, NAJM is a non-profit Dutch-Canadian Cultural Society based in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. NAJM hosts four gezellige dinner-dances annually such as the Winter Carnaval in February, the Koninginnebal in April, the Haringfeest in September and the Sint Nicolaas celebration at the end of November. The dinner-dances are held at the Scandinavian Centre at 6540 Thomas Street in Burnaby and are open to the general public. Each month NAJM also hosts a Borrelavond, or pub night, in Vancouver, as well as coffee clubs in Vancouver, West Vancouver, Ladner, New Westminster, Port Coquitlum, south Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, and Chilliwack. In addition, there are monthly Klaverjas card clubs in Vancouver and south Surrey and bi-monthly Family events as well. NAJM extends a warm welcome to new immigrants and maintains a close working relationship with the Netherlands Consulate.
